How to Sell a SaaS Feature as a Widget
Short answer: pick one feature that works on its own, let your coding agent package it, set your terms, and list it. The only thing you have to do is answer questions.
From the video:
The steps (in Ordana)
- Copy one prompt into your own coding agent.
- It reads your code, then interviews you, one question at a time, about eight of them: which part of your product becomes the widget, who uses it, what's free, what's paid, what it costs, and what share goes to the product it lives in. Each question comes with the agent's recommendation and its reason, so "go with that" is a perfectly good answer.
- It builds a clickable preview inside your own codebase. You click through it before you sell anything.
- Confirm your terms and list it.
Ordana never reads your repository. Your own agent does the reading, and you choose what comes back.
What happens after you list
Your widget gets its own link. Someone opens it, presses Integrate into my product, signs up, finishes onboarding, and your widget is in their product: one session.
And if you're the one looking for a widget, the AI reads your product and tells you which widgets fit, and why. Sometimes it's one you'd never think of.
Why a marketplace matters
Physical products had a barrier: capital, or code your own store. Then Shopify, and Amazon as the biggest marketplace on earth. Whop did the same for digital products. A widget marketplace does it for features: any SaaS can create a widget, host it and sell it through the marketplace. (Why that's possible now: software is a commodity.)
What makes a good widget
A feature that solves one step of a job your partner's users already have, and that stands on its own inside someone else's product. If you're not sure which of your features that is, start from who your partners are: same customer, same job, different step.

Who sets the price?
You do, along with the free tier and the host's share, before anyone integrates.
How long does it take to turn a feature into a widget?
The work is your coding agent's: it reads your code, asks you about eight questions with a recommendation for each, and builds a clickable preview. Your part is answering the questions and confirming the terms.
